Mission Merchants Association - The Mission Merchants Association is a group of local merchants working together for our business area. All businesses in Mission are welcome to join. Monthly meetings are held the second and fourth Thursdaya of every month at 6:30 pm. Contact Sharon Miller, Art Glass Productions, for locations of meetings. Sharon says, “Attending meetings is not the goal; we are looking to share ideas, support other Mission businesses and work with the City of Mission to help our area grow.”

Michael Bearde was featured on NBC 41 Action News in December, 2007. Michael, a Mission hair stylist with Salon Bearde, developed his own line of products, Bearde Professional Hair Products. They are available locally at Salon Bearde, 5618 Johnson Drive.

Casey's Auto Repair (5917 Beverly Avenue) was named the New Business of the Year by the Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce. The award is given to an outstanding NEJC Chamber member who has been in business for less than three years.

ScriptPro (5828 Reeds Road) was named 2007 Corporate Business of the Year by the Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce. The award is given to an outstanding business which has been in business at least 5 years and exhibits exemplary community involvement.

"25 Under 25" Award - Three Mission buinesses each received the 2008 "25 Under 25" Award by Kansas City Small Business Monthly for being one of the 25 best businesses with fewer than 25 employees. The three Mission businesses receiving this year's award are:

Mission Fresh Produce at 5106 Johnson Drive is making the news. Becky and Ray Hanf appeared on Channel 41 Action News "Business in Action" segment, and Ray will be in an upcoming feature of "Come Into My Kitchen"
