Spirit of Mission Days 2009

Come join us May 7th through May 10th for Spirit of Mission Days 2009! In the tradition of past years the 2009 "Spirit of Mission Days event will be an event filled with music, food and family fun.

The Spirit of Mission Days will be held on the grounds of the Sylvester Powell, Jr. Community Center at 6200 Martway in Mission.

As in the past, this year's event will feature a carnival, a parade, bands for your entertainment, vendors and more.

Friday evening, May 8th will feature a special presentation by the musicians of Shawnee Mission North High School. The school's Music Department will hold a jazz session from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Come and cheer on your favorite group or help sponsor one - your contribution as a sponsor will go directly to the school's music program.

We'll start Saturday's events with a pancake breakfast provided by the Shawnee Mission Rotary Club. The parade will start at 11:00 on Johnson Drive between Beverly and Nall streets. The carnival starts at noon in the parking lot of the Sylvester Powell, Jr. Community Center.

The carnival runs from Thursday, May 7th through Sunday, May 10th. Fourteen rides, cotton candy, sno cones, funnel cakes, nachos, popcorn, hot dogs - what more could you want?
