Mission Business Improvement Grant Program

The City of Mission Business Improvement Grant program supports local businesses through funding for exterior building repairs or improvements and qualified energy efficiency improvements. The grant program is available to owners of business property located within certain zoning classifications in the City of Mission, Kansas, and provides a 50% re-imbursement for eligible costs, subject to specific limits.

In August, 2003, the City Council established the Mission Business Development Committee, and charged them with the responsibility of developing and administering an investment and revitalization program for the business district. With the formation of the Mission Convention and Visitors Bureau in February, 2009, responsibility for administering the grant program was transferred to the City's Community Development Department.

Since its start, the Mission Business Improvement Grant program has awarded over $215,000 to benefit more than 70 local businesses. These grants have leveraged over $600,000 in total investment in the community.

More information about the grant program is available on the City of Mission website. Interested business property owners should contact Danielle Murray (Phone: 913-676-8363) for a pre-application meeting to discuss their proposed project and identify the necessary permits and approvals.
