2008 Holiday Assistance for the Needy

Your generous Christmas and Thanksgiving donations were greatly appreciated by many. With the help of our Mission businesses, we were able to deliver Thanksgiving baskets to 27 families and Christmas dinners and gifts to 11 families. Shawnee Mission North High School and Rushton Elementary Grade School provided the City with names of families that they knew were in need of an extra little bit of love during the holidays. Of these families, 3 are struggling with leukemia and a mother of 4 has multiple sclerosis. So, on behalf of those so deserving, may I say a very warm and heartfelt thank you. This would not have been possible without each of you sharing and caring.
