Welcome to our New Shawnee Mission High School Intern
Welcome to Anne Marie Fleming, a Senior at Shawnee Mission North High School, who will be joining us as our intern for the coming year. And a big thanks to Nicole White, who just completed her senior year with us and is headed to K.U. If you have ever attended the Holiday Lights, you will notice that all of the children’s activities are planned and carried out by our Shawnee Mission North intern and her class mates.

In 2008 the Arts and Eats Festival featured rain barrels painted by area organizations. This year Shawnee Mission North High School, Rushton Elementary Grade School, individuals and area scout troops will be painting chairs!!! More information...

With the help of our Mission businesses and many local individuals, we were able to deliver Thanksgiving baskets to 27 families and Christmas dinners and gifts to 11 families this recent holiday season. More Information...

Revisions to City Zoning Ordinances
The City Council approved various revisions to the City’s zoning ordinances. In most cases, zoning ordinance revisions only apply when new development/construction is being considered or proposed at a particular site. “Women Business Champion” for 2008
Becky Wilson, President of WDS Marketing and Public Relations, was recognized by Kansas City Business magazine as one of the “50 Most Influential Women in Business” in Kansas City. She was also chosen by the US Small Business Administration as the Kansas City area “Women Business Champion” for 2008.
Volunteer of the Year
Congratulations to Jim Sloss, owner of SignPro, for being named the Volunteer of the Year by the Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce.
Dave Conradt to Board of Directors
Contratulations to Dave Conradt - the Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce elected Dave Conradt of Mid-America Locksmiths to its board of directors. He serves as vice chair for the Mission Business Development Committee, and recently served on the board of the Barn Players Theatre in Mission.
